Independence Day
For the first time since we've lived here Jared did not have to work security on the Fourth of July, so we were able to celebrate the Fourth together. The base puts on a big carnival and fireworks show each year with rides, games, food (funnel cakes, yummy!), live music, face painting, and, to end the night, fireworks . We got there in time for dinner and a few rides and then it was time to stake our claim for watching the big show. We were lucky enough to find a spot close to some a few other families from church so we all sat together and were able to visit until the fireworks began. Here's some pictures of the night!
Samantha and Natalie, especially Natalie, were looking forward to cotton candy all day. Natalie really, really, wanted to get to the "celebration" so we could get some. The entire day she kept pointing out how good she was being and asking if good girls could get cotton candy.
A little patriotic peek-a-boo
And still enjoying the cotton candy during the fireworks show - maybe two big tubs was one tub too many?
